YRF Makes A Mark At The Indian Film Festival In Russia

Yash Raj Films’ production Dum Laga Ke Haisha and MSM Motion Pictures’ Piku ( distributed by YRF) won accolades and received immense praise at the recently concluded Indian Film Festival in Russia (IFFR). The festival saw Dum Laga Ke Haisha’s lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana, with industry personalities Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar in attendance along with Sarfaraz Alam – President of IFFR and Festival Director and Ashish Sharma- Director Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Indian Embassy.


Dum Laga Ke Haisha earned the Best Actor award for Ayushmann Khurrana and Piku won the Best Director award for Shoojit Sircar and the Best Film honours for producers N P Singh, Ronnie Lahiri and Sneha Rajani.The festival which took place at Formula Kino Horizont was witnessed by a strong audience of 2000 plus, interestingly comprising of largely native Russians along with a very small Indian diaspora.


And that’s not all! The Russian viewers just couldn't get enough of the Indian entertainment. Even the superstars of Russia, Dima Bilan and Sati Kazanova who were present longed to see more of Indian cinema while the Indian guests were awestruck to see Russian dancers perform with complete ease on Indian sounds and beats both during the opening and closing ceremony.


With its presence at the Indian Film Festival in Russia, YRF continues its endeavour of taking Indian cinema to global audiences!
