After working as an executive producer-associate director and co-writing the screenplay with Kunal Kohli for the hit rom-com HUM TUM (2004), Siddharth Anand made his directorial debut under the YRF banner with the feel-good romantic comedy SALAAM NAMASTE (2005). The story and the screenplay were written by him. The film went on to earn a positive critical reception and was also highly successful at the box office. His second directorial venture was a sports drama TA RA RUM PUM (2007) for which the story idea was his. He also directed BACHNA AE HASEENO (2008) and WAR (2019). The story idea of WAR was by him and Aditya Chopra and he co-wrote the screenplay with Shridhar Raghavan. The action entertainer WAR (2019) became the blockbuster of that year and also shattered records at the box-office.
