12 January 2005: The magnitude of damage done to life and property due to the recent Tsunami tragedy cannot be expressed in words. The pain of the victims and their bereaved families can only be felt by the heart.

Yash Chopra, Chairman of Yash Raj Films, donated Rs. 55 lakhs towards the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund in aid of the Tsunami victims. He personally handed over the cheque to the esteemed Prime Minister,
Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Expressing his concern on this catastrophe, Yash Chopra said, "In a tragedy of this magnitude, we must all come together to support those in need by helping out in whatever little way each one of us can. May God give us the strength and courage to triumph over these difficult times."
