Black released across the UK on the 4th of February with only 19 cinemas competing with other Hollywood & Bollywood biggies. Opening weekend grossed £66,209 with a respectable print average of £3484. Black had established itself as par-excellence by the end of the first week with a closing figure of £96,642.

In week 2, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black really came into its own. With a 2nd weekend gross of £60,806, the film closed the full week at an incredible figure of £108, 551. A massive increase of 12% instead of the traditional 50% drops.
