| The story, casting and direction of the movie is superb. Katrina, John and Neil have done full justice to the characters they've played onscreen. John is outstanding in the movie (..his scenes in the detention cell send shivers down my spine!). Katrina is phenomenal as Maya..I have no words to describe how she's touched my heart (..I love you Katrina!!) Neil and Irrfan are equally good in their respective roles...Great music and wonderful lyrics make this movie a must watch.

| The movie is simply awesome. Its a great revelation of the harsh facts, presented in a very subtle way. I have been researching quite a bit about Gitmo bay prison ever since Mr. Obama announced its closing the 2nd day he stepped into office. Of all chaos around, I couldnt understand why Mr. President would address this issue first day in office. So, I read on the subject quite a bit and the learnings were quite shocking and depressing to me. Post-9/11 of all the suspects is practically gruesome and churns the stomach with pain for what the innocent suffered.
The movie has been taken extremely well...great script, dialogues, all the cast performed exceptionally well. I cannot appreciate Mr. Kabir Khan enough. Kudos to the Director and team! A must watch movie. | | Ramya (USA) | |

| New York is just the movie for the people who have tasted the sweetness and happiness of friendship. This movie being another great creation of Yash Raj Films. I just loved John Abraham in the movie. Katrina Kaif was as usual adorable and cute. Neil was just perfect in the movie. I saw the movie at home with my parents and the end was heartbreaking... Me and my parents almost cried ! Any way please produce more movies featuring John Abraham.... If you haven't seen New York yet just pop in to a theater near you.

as i feel dat @ dat point it doesnt mak sense...n removez d charm of film bcoz SAM(John) dies 4 nothin...even he faced cruelty...also face failure in makin bomb blast in FBI headquarterz...n just destroyed his lyf...n proper justice 2 him iz nt made...!!!

| | just watched new york 4 d second time 2day!!!!!! 1st movie in my life which i have seen in d hall 2 times n it was really touching..... kabir khan according to me is the most sensible director in india today.... i have new reapect 4 john abraham today...i dont think ne oder actor could do it(coz they would just overact) he was really nice i dont think ne can bring d cold look on his face like he did when he asks neil to shoot dat bangladeshi guy his overall acting was fantastic... i hope he does these kind of movies more his acting abilities have found new heights after this movie... n his chemistry with katrina was superb the last scene with john n katrina was touching according to me and my friends whoever dint cry d after seein it doesnt have a heart seriously....!!!! neil was very convincing and irrfan khan we cant talk about him coz he is a league of his own....n i can say dat this was katrinas best movie till date(infact all the actors) good work... | | smitakshi talukdar (bangalore) | |

| Newyork was well-worth the wait. After all we have been waiting since March. Awesome, fabulous film! It is so good to see and experience thought-provoking, intelligent and well made cinema. And Well-done John! No-one else could have played the part of Sam. Words are not enough to describe your fine performance. And thank you Kabir Khan for giving us a good film.
All the characters are believable and convincing. The chemistry between Katrina, Neil and John is great. They are very convincing as friends. There are some cute moments between John and Neil too. Neil was great fit for his character Omar. Katrina indeed surprised me. Being a woman, I can relate to her character. All her emotions looked very natural. Irfan Khan played his part really well. His character provided much-needed perspective to look at things differently.
Newyork is a real film, not at all preachy. It definitely triggers lots of discussions. The movie charges all our brain cells. This is not a movie that you see once and forget. It will leave you thinking for days and months. I really liked the screenplay of the movie. It is one of the strengths of the movie. It was very easy to go off-track from the main story, but it doesn't. Newyork is a good dramatic thriller. And for Kabir Khan, I would write something I read somewhere - There are no good or bad films, only good and bad directors. This is so true in the context.
Talking about John's performance - it was e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t! We see the fresh, happy, star Sam in the university. And then we see the quiet, broken, burning inside, angry Sam. The helplessness on his face when he was weeping and eating his food when a dog band was in his neck...I just go in silent mode and am overwhelmed when I think of the prison scenes. Gut-wrenching scenes… And to think that this could have happened to anyone... That sends chills down the spine. John has excelled all the expectations. He was so much into the character that I just kept calling him Sam. You could feel that Sam was sitting across from you with vulnerability, anger in his eyes. I liked the climax. I won't write about it as it will give the plot away. I would only say that the John has the finest expressions. Very refined acting… The preparation behind the performance, the research behind the movie and the script is evident in this masterpiece Newyork.

| | I just saw New York a few days ago and I totally loved it. The story was just phenomenal. Neil and John did such good acting. Katrina was awesome as well. I loved how this story could actually be a real life story. Also, this movie is one of a kind. Usually Bollywood movies are copies of Hollywood movies, but this is original. Kabir Khan did superb direction. Every angle of the movie was well done. It was so good, I loved loved the ending. It was so sad that I cried. I know lots of people who aren't big fans of this movie, but i totally disagree with them. New York was a great movie. | A very well made film. Got the opportunity to watch the film in theatre in Singapore. Every actor acted excellent. Specially... John, Irfan, Neil, Katrina... even the kid...
Kabir Khan is one of the best directors of India today. Thanks Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra for giving opportunities to directors like Kabir Khan, Shimit Amin... These 2 are the best directors of your panel of directors. rest are not that good.
We want to see more of Shahrukh Khan's films...
