On June 24, 2004, the office of the Virginia State Attorney General, Jerry W. Kilgore, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department, acting pursuant to search warrants, entered 4 retail stores and one residence in the Fairfax County area of Virginia and seized thousands of DVD's, audio cassettes, videocassettes and CD's containing counterfeit and pirated copies of Indian films and music. The law enforcement agents also seized copies of counterfeit artwork, VHS labels and counterfeit holograms, computers, business and financial records, and equipment and supplies used for packaging counterfeit media products. Seizures were made at the following locations:

1. 8530 Bauer Circle, West Springfield, VA (residence).
2. Patel Brothers, 11116 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA.
3. Bombay Food and Gifts 11212 Suite D, Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA.
4. Bombay Spices, 13830-15 Lee Highway, Centerville, VA.
5. Shivam Music and Grocery 6354-B Commerce Street, Springfield, VA.

Despite the numerous warnings and communications by and on behalf of the Indian film and music companies, various parties continue to duplicate, display and distribute illegal, unauthorized copies of Indian motion pictures and sound recordings.

These most recent seizures and arrests serve as a warning to film and music pirates that the Indian film and music industry intends to aggressively prosecute companies and individuals that engage in piracy.
