New YorkAfter the stupendous success of the music of ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, the music of NEW YORK is the latest offering from YRF Music. The movie releases on 26th June in theatres worldwide

The film stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh andIrrfan and is directed by Kabir Khan. The first hearing of the music provides ample evidence that the talented music director Pritam, is all set to capture people’s hearts. The music of New York is young and has inspiring lyrics with melodic compositions and makes a fine new addition to the YRF Music label.

The album starts with Hai Junoon. The core element of the film is friendship and it is summarised beautifully in this song. Brilliantly sung by KK, written by Sandeep Shrivastava and composed by Pritam, Hai Junoon is a pacey & upbeat number with great use of the acoustic guitar. It is filmed on three friends - John, Katrina & Neil - and celebrates youth, camaraderie and the fire to achieve. You'll be singing Hai Junoon right after you hear it. So enjoy this song which is soon going to be a youth anthem!

Mere Sang is an emotional song with lyrics on hope and true love. Sung soulfully by Sunidhi Chauhan with lyrics penned very poetically by Sandeep Shrivastava, the song is supported ably by a lilting male chorus featured at the right junctions. Filmed on John and Katrina, Mere Sang has been shot in several locations of New York for the film.

Tune Jo Na Kaha is a slow emotional number rendered in the voice of Mohit Chauhan. It has been written by Sandeep Srivastava and superbly composed by Pritam and will surely become one of his new masterpieces. The song has many musical breaks in the rhythm and a wonderfully written flute solo in the music interlude. Tune Jo Na Kaha is about unrequited love and has a very hummable melody which will stay with you for a long time. It has been filmed on Neil and Katrina.

Aye Saye Mere is a Sufi rock number sung and composed by Pankaj Awasthi. It has a unique blend of raw and rustic vocals and a wonderful variety of Indian and Western instruments. Despite its Sufi character, this track has a very contemporary feel to it. Junaid Wasi's lyrics make it evocative and compelling. This track brilliantly captures the soul of the film in a philosophical way.

Following Aye Saye Mere are fast paced Remixes of Hai Junoon and Mere Sang – both composed by Julius Packiam. The remixes are very catchy and danceable club numbers with a great groove. They will surely get your feet tapping and head swinging.

Sam's Theme is next on the album. Vocals by Caralisa Monteiro and composition by Julius Packiam collaborate to produce this breathtaking symphony. This theme is the backbone of the background score of the film and comes at different stages of the movie. A hauntingly beautiful violin solo uplifts Sam’s theme.

The New York Theme rounds up the album and is superbly composed and arranged by Julius Packiam. Heavy percussion and a great guitar solo infuse energy into the piece giving it a very international feel.

Additionally two music videos choreographed by Ahmed Khan have been picturised on the remix versions of Hai Junoon and Mere Sang.

The Hai Junoon remix music video has been filmed on John, Katrina and Neil and shows the three friends having a blast on the cluttered terrace of a New York skyscraper. It shows lighthearted moments shared amongst these friends and the sweet and endearing bond that exists between the three.

The Mere Sang remix music video has been picturised on Katrina Kaif where she light heartedly flirts with the camera. As she belts out this song on hope and true love, Katrina draws the audience into a magical world.

The music of NEW YORK uplifts every scene and highlights the emotions of all the characters in the movie. Pritam’s music perfectly captures the spirit of the movie and is true to it. Don’t miss this special album.

The Music CD comes with a “Free Song DVD” containing 25 Hit YRF Songs
