The late Yash Chopra’s younger son, Uday Chopra, started his film career by assisting Yash Chopra in the films ‘Lamhe’ (Moments – 1991), ‘Parampara’ (Tradition – 1993), ‘Darr’ (Fear – 1993) and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ (The Heart Is Crazy – 1997).

He also assisted his elder brother Aditya Chopra in his debut film, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (The Braveheart will take the Bride – 1995), which became one of the largest grossers in Indian film history.

Uday Chopra made a very successful debut as an actor, under his elder brother’s direction in ‘Mohabbatein’ (Love Stories – 2000), which was one of the top grossing films of the year.

He also played the lead in ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ (My Friend’s Wedding - 2002) and appeared in ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ (Let’s be friends – 2002).

He has acted in films produced by other banners as well, like ‘Supari’ (Paid to Kill – 2003) and ‘Charas’ (Opium – 2004). Uday Chopra won the nation over in ‘Dhoom’ (Blast – 2004), which was one of the highest grossing Hindi films of the year.

He indeed arrived as a lead actor in his own right with ‘Neal ‘n’ Nikki’ (Neal and Nikki – 2005). After the super success of ‘Dhoom’, its sequel ‘Dhoom:2’ (Blast:2 – 2006) also had a stellar performance by the youngest scion of the Chopra family. ‘Dhoom:2’ has become one of the biggest success stories of Indian Cinema. Uday also played the lead role in ‘Pyaar Impossible’ (Love Impossible – 2010) which was also written and produced by him for YRF.

Uday Chopra launched ‘Yomics’ - YRF Comics Division in 2012 in an endeavor to bring the comic art form of entertainment back and use the lure of movies to help excite and entice the first lot of consumers.

He also starred in ‘Dhoom:3’ (Blast:3 - 2013) next to Aamir Khan in 2013. Dhoom:3 was the first Bollywood movie to be released in the IMAX motion picture film format with Dolby Atmos surround sound.  The film created history at both the Indian and Overseas box office - it is now officially the first Indian film to cross Rs. 500 crore worldwide,  making it the biggest Motion Picture Event of all time!
